In the early 80’s after working with Charles Jourdan budding cobbler Robert Clergerie bought the ‘Societe Romanaise de la Chaussure’ manufacturers of Joseph Fenestrier and launched the Robert Clergerie label for women. The label quickly gained a reputation for offering beautifully crafted handmade shoes made from luxurious leathers and fabrics pared with cutting edge designs. Taking inspiration from classic styles such as the gentleman’s brogue, Robert Clergerie introduced his version for women in a glamorous array of colours and variations. Today the Robert Clergerie collections are available world wide at their flagship stores in Paris, London, Cannes, NY and Beverly Hills to name a few.
